Halifax’s Spring Garden district is surprisingly rich in sushi restaurants, with most of the city’s top options happening to fall within that area. However, many of the places are small or unassuming, so you’d be forgiven for having missed them in your sushi exploration thus far. Here are some of the best places to grab some sushi in Spring Garden.

Ko-Doraku - 5640 Spring Garden Road

Ko-Doraku is open everyday from 11am until 8 in the evening, offering some really great affordable lunch and dinner special combos for some really delicious sushi. It is tucked away in the basement of the Mills Mall, and is well-loved for it’s straight-up, non pretentious vibe, nice simple decorations, and reliably good sushi.

Sushi Jet - 5518 Spring Garden Road

Every list of sushi restaurants should include one all-you-can-eat place, for those of us who are trying to get insanely full. Sushi Jet moved from an old location on Salter Street to Spring Garden and it offers unusually high quality and nice big rolls for their all you can eat sushi.

Suzuki Restaurant - 1519 Dresden Row

Suzuki, like Ko-Doraku, can be fairly easy to miss if you don’t know where you’re going, but this restaurant in Spring Garden has to be considered one of the best sushi restaurants in the city. The sushi is made from high quality, fresh ingredients and is well presented, although it is a little more expensive than other places on this list.
